Kabul : Afghan police have killed 13 Taliban insurgents in the southern province of Zabul, an official said Monday.
Some militants attacked a police checkpoint in Shahjoy district late Sunday triggering a gun battle, official Gulab Shab Alikhil said. He said the police suffered no casualties.
Rising violence in Afghanistan has claimed over 3,800 lives this year.
