Police said around 20 Maoists of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) dynamited the guest house in Chainpur village of Daltanganj, 170 km from here, and left behind pamphlets and shouted slogans in favour of their organisation. The pamphlets said that more such attacks would be carried out.

The CPI-Maoist is celebrating martyrs’ week from Monday.

Maoist rebels have blown up three forest guest houses in Jharkhand in the last four days. On Friday, they dynamited two guest houses in Garwah district. On Saturday, they set afire two railway engines in Latehar district.

Maoists are active in 16 of the state’s 22 districts. Around 830 people including 320 security personnel have been killed in the last six years in Maoist-related violence.
