Flooded rail tunnel kills three

Enshi (China) : At least three people have been killed and seven have gone missing in an inundated railway tunnel in central China’s Hubei province, rescuers said Tuesday.

Two bodies were found after more than 200 people were dispatched to search for the trapped workers, said Tan Zhengbiao, general manager of China Railway 16th Group Co. Ltd, which is tasked with the tunnel construction.

The fatal flooding occurred Sunday, trapping 52 workers. Forty-three of them were rescued the same day. One of the injured died Monday.
