Kolte won with an emphatic 36:24 points verdict over his fancied Kazakhstan opponent Zakir Safiulin in the quarterfinals, ensuring a bronze medal, said the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) in a statement here.

Dilbagh was, however, unlucky to lose his quarterfinal bout to Neil Perkins of England on points, 25:17. Till the end of the third round they were going neck and neck and the scores read 16:17 in favour of the English lad.

However, in the fourth round, a resurgent Perkins pulled away strongly to win.

On Wednesday, Manoj (64 kg) meets Aikelamu Balati of China in the quarterfinals while Dinesh (81 kg) meets Lei Yuping of China in the semi finals.

India is now assured of a minimum of three medals and an additional one if Manoj wins his bout against his Chinese opponent.
