Ghosal, who was the lone Indian to win a medal in the event at the Doha Asian Games – a bronze – said: “The muscle fibre on my left knee has shifted a bit and I have been advised complete rest by the doctors.

“However, I hope to do well in Pakistan, though it would be a tough tournament (which begins on Aug 18),” he added.

The Racquet Club of Calcutta on Tuesday conferred its life membership on him. Saurav said he felt proud and honoured.

Club president Alok Maheswari took the opportunity to announce a Professional Squash Association (PSA) tournament to be held in January or February 2008.

It would be a three star tournament worth $30,000, he added.
