Harbhajan scalps 11 in Surrey’s two-day win over Kent

London : Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, back in favour with the Indian selectors, celebrated his inclusion in the national squad for the Twenty20 World Championships with 11 wickets in a two-day victory for Surrey at Kent in the county championships.

Harbhajan had a remarkable match haul of 11/91 to help spin Surrey to victory in two days of the four-day contest against Kent, although the winners were made to scramble to 108/6 for the four-wicket victory.

England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff returned to county action with three wickets as Lancashire took control of their match against Yorkshire at Headingley.

Flintoff looked in good form with the ball as he continues his return from ankle surgery, and England’s selectors will have been delighted with his 3/38.

Hampshire look all set for a big win against bottom side Worcestershire as they skittled out the hapless visitors for just 86 in their response to Hampshire’s 455-9 declared.

The home side added a further 103-8 declared at the Rose Bowl and Worcestershire ended day two 24 without loss, still 448 runs adrift.

Division One leaders and defending county champions Sussex are struggling against Warwickshire as they were bowled out for just 168 in reply to 433 as the visitors try to set up a victory at Hove.
