Kuala Lumpur : A total of 20 passengers were killed early Monday when a bus they were travelling in skidded of the road and overturned at the expressway near Bukit Gantang in Malaysia.
The accident occurred at 4.45 a.m. when the bus from Johor Baru of southern Johor state was heading towards Alor Star of northern Kedah state, a police spokesman said.
Nineteen passengers, including seven women, died on the spot, while another breathed his last in the hospital, where six seriously injured are being treated.
According to the police, the bus was descending a slope and hit a divider before it overturned and rolled down into a 5-meter deep ditch.
