India win series in England after 21 years

London : The third Test ended in a draw here Monday, giving India a 1-0 series victory against England – the first in 21 years – and the newly-instituted Pataudi Trophy.

The Indian team, who won the second Test in Nottingham, gave another reason to celebrate the 60th anniversary of India’s independence.

This is England’s first series defeat since the 2001 Ashes series against Australia.
