There were total of 900 runners for Sunday’s marathon and 2,000 for the half marathon.

Roy, the only Asian and also the oldest runner in the field, finished second in the over-70 age group.

Overcat skies and temperatures between 11 and 20 degrees Celsius made the run comfortable on a route that had many steep climbs.

Roy has now completed seven marathons this year and is planning his 80th overall Sep 15 at Dayton, US. That would give him a new Indian and Asian record. After that the veteran runner plans to rest for some time at his New Delhi home.
