New Delhi : President Pratibha Patil will address the nation Tuesday on the eve of Independence Day.
This will be Patil’s first address to the nation after assuming office last month.
The address will be telecast over state broadcaster Doordarshan in Hindi and then in English from 7 p.m. onwards, a Rashtrapati Bhavan release said.
The address will also be simultaneously broadcast over all channels of All India Radio (AIR).
AIR will broadcast the regional versions of the address over its regional channels from 9.30 p.m. onwards, the release said.
