New Delhi : Former vice president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat Monday shifted into Rajasthan House in the capital as the bungalow allotted to him is being renovated.
His shift enables his successor Mohammad Hamid Ansari to move into the Vice President’s residence. Ansari is currently staying at Haryana Bhavan.
Shekhawat resigned from the vice president’s post soon after losing the presidential elections to United Progressive Alliance (UPA) candidate Pratibha Devisingh Patil last month.
He had stayed at Rajasthan House for two months after he had been elected vice president in 2002 till alternate arrangements were made for the widow of his predecessor Krishna Kant. He will later move to 31 Aurangzeb Road.
