Sir Alf Ramsey to inspire England footballers again

London : A bust of Sir Alf Ramsey, England’s 1966 World Cup-winning manager, will be commissioned by the Football Association (FA) and placed in the tunnel at Wembley to inspire the current generation of England players.

“It will be a message that England have scaled peaks before and can scale them again,” Brian Barwick, the chief executive of the FA, was quoted as saying in The Daily Telegraph.

Philip Jackson, the distinguished sculptor who designed the stunning Bobby Moore statue outside Wembley, which attracts huge crowds of admirers, will create the Sir Ramsey’s bust.

Although situated outside the dressing rooms, pictures of the Ramsey statue will be beamed up on Wembley’s big screens.
