Islamabad : At least 25 people were killed Monday when a passenger bus plunged into a river in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, TV channels reported.
The bus, which was heading to Muzaffarabad from Athmuqam, a town near the Line of Control, with some 50 passengers skidded off the road and plunged into a 350-feet deep River Neelam, Geo TV reported.
Eight people were seriously injured and were shifted to a military hospital in the region, according to the report. Around 10 passengers are stated to be missing in the accident the cause of which has not been ascertained.
The local people started to recover the bodies and pulled the injured out of the bus.
The region, called Neelam Valley, was badly hit by the October 2005 earthquake, which had killed over 73,000 people in the area.
