Delhi University paid tributes to Urdu Writer Qurratulain Hyder

August : Renowned Urdu fiction writer and famous Gyanpeeth awardee Qurratulain Hyder died on Tuesday at the age of 80. To pay homage a condolence meeting was held in the Department of Urdu, Delhi University. The meeting was attended by faculty members and students of the department and Head of the department of Urdu of C.C.S. University, Meerut.

Prof. Ibne Kanwal, Head of the department described her demise as an irreparable loss of Urdu world and her work as milestones and said it is impossible to fill the gape caused by her demise. Describing her contribution to the Urdu literature Dr. Irteza Karim said, without being associated to any ism she proved her mantle and established herself in fiction writing and received critical appreciation from all quarters.

Dr. Abu Bakar Abbad and Dr. Aslam Jamshedpuri of C.C.S. University also paid tributes to legendry Urdu writer and talked in details about her novels and short stories and her command over English language. Bazm-e-Adab president also expressed his sorrow and grief over the demise of great writer of the last century. The meeting was attended by all teachers and students of the department. A resolution was passed at the end of meeting.
