Fresh violence in Nandigram claims one life

Nandigram (West Bengal) : Fresh violence broke out in Nandigram Friday between Left activists and members of a group protesting land acquisition for industry, claiming one life.

Madhab Mandal, a member of the anti-land acquisition Bhumi Uchched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC), was killed in a clash with members of the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist. The BUPC has called a Nandigram bandh Saturday.
