The body of Devarajan was discovered by his son Binu at their residence in Musalla Tower apartment near Rolla Square in Sharjah, Thursday.

Police have not yet arrested anybody but Saturday questioned watchman of the building, a few acquaintances of the victim and the housemaid (who was sacked last month for her alleged involvement in some petty theft), Khaleej Times reported.

“I found my father’s body lying in a pool of blood when I returned home from work at about 1.30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. However, I cannot say anything more. I am still in shock,” Binu told the newspaper.

Devrajan’s wife and daughter, who have been vacationing in India, are expected to return to the UAE Sunday.

Devarajan, who hailed from Kerala, had been residing in the UAE since 1976. He used to run Al Bine Trading, a Sharjah-based company engaged in importing packing materials from the US.

He had recently started his own manufacturing unit in Sharjah Industrial Area. After spending six months in India, he had returned only last month.
