Colombo : At least nine LTTE guerrillas were killed and five army personnel injured in clashes over the past two days in northern Sri Lanka.
The Tamil Tiger rebels were killed in Sri Lanka’s northwestern Munnar district, the Defence Ministry said Monday, adding the army troops also recovered a large cache of weapons.
There was no immediate word from the LTTE.
More than 5,200 people have been killed in fierce clashes between the two sides since December 2005.
