Kampala : Over 70 people were killed in a weekend road accident in eastern Uganda when a military truck rolled down a cliff.
Among the dead were soldiers, their wives and children, said Maj. Felix Kulayigye, spokesman of Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), in a statement issued here Monday.
“The UPDF with deep sorrow informs the country of the death of 57 soldiers, 13 women and two children who died in a road accident”.
According to the statement, another 31 soldiers, 13 women and four children were injured in the accident. They were admitted in different hospitals.
