Kabul : Two soldiers of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were killed in Afghanistan, an ISAF statement said Monday.
One ISAF soldier was killed during a patrol Sunday in eastern Afghanistan, the statement said.
An ISAF unit took small-arms fire during a dismounted patrol and one soldier was wounded and died later, it added.
Also Sunday, one ISAF soldier was killed and another injured when their patrol was hit by a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistan, the statement said.
It did not say which provinces the two incidents occurred.
In accordance with NATO policy, ISAF also does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
About 37,000 ISAF soldiers and 13,000 US-led coalition soldiers are being deployed in Afghanistan to fight militants and keep security.
Due to rising Taliban violence, about 140 foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
