Prostitution racket busted, Uzbek girls rescued

Mumbai : Two girls from Uzbekistan and one from Rajasthan were rescued from three notorious pimps by the enforcement wing of the Mumbai police following a fortnight-long planned operation, police said Wednesday.

The social service branch (SSB) of the enforcement wing of the police raided a bungalow in the posh Pali Hill area of Bandra and arrested the three pimps on Tuesday night.

The trio – Nafees Ahmed Ansari, Kailash Vishnu Yadav and Rajesh Vasudeo Paswan were produced before additional chief metropolitan magistrate S.Y. Sishode, who sent them to police remand till Sep 12, police said.

The three girls have been sent to a remand home at Chembur in northeast Mumbai till Sep 5.

After working on a tip off for a few days, the officers of the SSB posed as decoy customers and busted the den.

Police are looking for some more persons including a woman who used to manage the brothel.

The accused had been booked under prevention of immoral trafficking act. Two cell phones and a sum of Rs.12,000 were seized from them.
