Kolkata : Coral Soff’wares Ltd, a software firm that has corporate majors like Tata and Lafarge as its clients, is launching an ERP application catering to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
“This software is very flexible and can be customised to any industry. It can be tailor-made and configured as per needs,” Prem Chand Kankaria, managing director and CEO, Coral Soff’wares Ltd, told IANS.
Coral ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning that integrates all the data and processes of an organisation into a unified system – has been developed to address the shortcomings of conventional ERP and make it a flexible and easily deployable product.
“This ERP is very easy to implement or deploy since the coding part has been reduced. This can be integrated with other systems. There is a huge need for such an ERP in the SME sector,” said Kankaria, who now plans to go global with the product.
“Keeping its focus on SMEs, which are riding the booming economy, Coral ERP has been developed after four years of R and D,” said Kankaria.
Coral has been a leader in many business application software products and services for SMEs. Some of its products, like X-ise – India’s first Central Excise Software to manage and maintain records related to central excise – have also been implemented for large enterprises like Amul, GlaxoSmithlineKline, Kodak, Lafarge and Tata.
“We have major offices in Kolkata and Mumbai and a network of other branch offices and channels across the country, but now we hope to capture the global market with this product. The response is already huge across the world,” said Kankaria.
An alumnus of the city’s prestigious St. Xavier’s College, Kankaria founded Coral Consultants PTE Ltd, now known as Coral Soff’wares Ltd, in 1988. The firm emerged as one of the few pioneering Kolkata-based firms offering business solutions.
