Talking to newsmen, Patel said: “The BJS samanvay mandal has declined to accept Umaji’s decision and therefore all the declared candidates would contest the elections under the party’s banner.”

“Umaji has been informed about the decision of the panel,” he added.

Patel, however, refused to accept factionalism in the party saying, “There might be differences of opinion on Gujarat elections but there is no serious problem like factionalism,” he added.

Patel said that even after being intimated of the panel’s decision, Uma Bharati participated in the election meeting of the BJS candidate in Sanver assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh where by-election is slated for Dec 12.

“She would participate in campaigning for the party candidates in Madhya Pradesh by-elections,” Patel said.
