Pakistan to expand trade ties with Turkey

Islamabad : Pakistan Monday emphasized the need to further expand bilateral trade ties with Turkey and urged the private sectors of the two countries to take advantage of investment and trade opportunities.

Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro and the visiting President of Turkey Abdullah Gul held a one-on-one meeting here and reaffirmed their stances to promote peace and harmony and shun militancy and extremism, said a press statement.

The Prime Minister said both countries are working towards promoting peace, harmony, and stability in the region and fully support each other in their endeavours towards achieving this common objective.

He emphasized the need to expand trade ties between the two countries, adding that the private sectors of the two countries should take greater advantage of the trade and investment opportunities in both states.

The Prime Minister said that Turkey has always been the first country to come to help Pakistan in its time of need.

The Turkish President said that Turkey appreciates and takes pride in the progress made by Pakistan in all fields. He said that both countries need to make collaborative efforts to expand their ties in all fields.
