New Delhi : The Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament, was adjourned for half an hour for the second time Wednesday after members from Orissa insisted that the draft of the national mineral policy be discussed with concerned chief ministers.
As the parliamentarians stormed the well of the house and created chaos for almost half an hour despite a clarification from Home Minister Shivraj Patil over the issue, Varkkala Radhakrishnan, who was in the Chair, adjourned the proceedings till 2.30 p.m.
The Lok Sabha was earlier adjourned for half an hour at 1 p.m. after Trinamool Congress chief Mamta Banerjee disrupted the proceedings by raising the issue of violence in West Bengal’s Nandigram area.
