Executing agencies of works hub in wheel of progress: Azad

Jammu : Describing executing agencies of development works as hub in the wheel of progress, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has called upon the officers to take the task of construction of vital infrastructure as a mission. “You have to deliver on ground and translate schemes into reality”, he added.

Addressing a meeting of officers at Bhadarwah, Chief Minister said that an era of fast track infrastructure development kick started in Jammu and Kashmir resulted in completion of hundreds of works in almost all sectors in the state. “Fast track infrastructure development of hospitals, colleges, university campuses, roads, bridges, PHE schemes and schools achieved during last couple of years required to be carried forward with more enthusiasm and speed”, he added.

Chief Minister also inspected various works under execution in Bhadarwah. He visited university campus, launched special fruit plantation drive in the campus in which students also participated by planting fruit plants.

Azad also laid foundation stone of 36.50 meter span motorable steel bridge over Neeru Nallah on Seri-Chhatra road, estimated to cost Rs. 1.56 crore.

Chief Minister also took stock of pace of progress on construction of district hospital complex at Doda this morning. The complex comprising OPD, IPD and administrative blocks, blood bank and other facilities is estimated to cost over Rs. 26.38 core. He issued instructions to the project executing authorities to complete the work by March next. He also reviewed the progress registered on construction of sports stadium at Doda.

MLA Abdul Majid Wani, Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Kotwal, District Development Commissioner Doda Sourab Bhagat and other senior officers were also present.
