Riyadh : In line with directives of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, the Charitable Foundation named after him, has established in cooperation with UNESCO, the program of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz for supporting the Arabic language.
Prince Khalid bin Sultan, the assistant defense and aviation minister for military affairs, and who is the deputy chairman of the foundation’s board of trustees, will launch the program on Monday in Paris in the presence of a number of officials and intellectuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Prince Turki bin Sultan, the assistant minister of culture and information and acting secretary general of the foundation, said Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz is keen on extending support to the cultural institutions whether they are regional or international institutions.
He noted that the Arabic language is one of the six languages of the UN and its organizations and agencies including the UNESCO.
The foundation has been supporting the efforts of Italy-based Bologna university in the field of Arab and Islamic sciences.
