Congress secretary in charge of Tamil Nadu, K. Krishnamurthy, has written to K. Vishnuprasad, son of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasamy and a legislator, asking him to explain why he had lodged a police complaint against central minister G.K. Vasan.

It had all started Nov 11 when Vasan supporter and Tamil Nadu Youth Congress president Mayura S. Jayakumar was attacked at the party headquarters here and stabbed by a bunch of hoodlums.

Jayakumar alleged that Vishnuprasad, who is also brother-in-law of Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, had instigated the attack on him because he was a Vasan supporter.

Jayakumar filed a police complaint, naming Vishnuprasad as instigator. In turn,Vishnuprasad went to the police Nov 14 and accused Vasan of framing him in the case.

The party sent V. Arunkumar, its Tamil Nadu in charge, to Chennai to institute an inquiry. He set up a three-member committee to investigate the attack. The report blamed factionalism for the charges and counter charges.
