They said in a joint statement that two missiles were launched this morning at the town in retaliation for Israeli crimes during yesterday’s incursion into Fakhari district, northern Rafah, and in the interest of protecting the Palestinian people and cause.

The joint statement was signed by Al-Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fatah, and Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing on the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Meanwhile on the Israeli side, a spokesman for the army said up to 17 Palestinian missiles had been launched at Sderot so far today.

Five Israelis have been injured and several others are suffering from shock, but there are no reports of material damage, he said.

The spokesman noted that the attacks came just a few hours after the Israeli pullout from northern Rafah, which left six Palestinians dead and 16 others wounded. Some 40 others have been arrested and are being interrogated right now.
