Speaking to IANS, state Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem said the five businessmen were M.A. Yusuf Ali living in the United Arab Emirates, Galfar Mohammed Ali living in Oman, C.K. Menon and C.M. Rappai living in Doha, and Varghese Kurian living in Kuwait.

The board of the company would comprise nine members. Four of them are government nominees.

“The first full board of InKel would meet here on the 15th of this month and managing director Gopalakrishna Pillai would be presenting the business plan for the company. We are getting ready several major projects,” said Kareem.

InKel has already identified locations in the state capital, Kochi and other places, where it would set up basic infrastructure for investors interested in starting sunrise industries.

The paid-up capital of the company would be Rs.1 billion. The state government holds 26 percent stake in the firm.

“The state government’s share has already been pumped in. The rest is to come from Kerala-born NRIs,” said Kareem.
