Proctor to be Match Referee for India-Australia Tests

Dubai : South African Mike Proctor has been appointed the Match Referee for the four-match Test series between India and Australia, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced here Wednesday.

Australia will be hosting India in a four-Test series, starting Dec 26, and Proctor will officiate in all four matches. Mark Benson and Billy Bowden, both from the Elite Panel of umpires, will be in charge of the Melbourne Test starting Dec 26. Steve Bucknor, also from the Elite Panel, will join Benson for the second Test in Sydney Jan 2.

Bucknor and Asad Ruaf will officiate the third Test in Perth from Jan 16 and Rauf will be joined by Bowden for the final Test match in Adelaide Jan 24.

Former India fast bowler, Javagal Srinath will also officiate as Match Referee for one Twenty20 International and the five-match one-day series between South Africa and West Indies, starting Jan 18 in Johannesburg.
