Four injured in hit-and-run case

New Delhi : Four people, including three cops, were seriously injured in a hit-and-run case in the capital early Sunday.

The city police said the accident occurred about 2.30 a.m. when head constable Ramesh, 42, constable Rameshwar, 38, and home guard Harish Kumar, 26, were on routine check of vehicles at Lodhi Road, near the Sai Baba Mandir, in south Delhi.

“The three were standing in front of the barricade when an unknown vehicle rammed into them,” Rajan Bhagat, spokesperson of the Delhi Police told IANS. A passerby, Vinod Kumar, 24, was also injured.

The injured have been admitted at the Trauma Centre in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

“We have not yet identified the driver of the vehicle nor the vehicle. We will get to know more details only when the injured are in a condition to talk,” Bhagat said.
