Kabul : At least 20 Taliban insurgents were killed in a joint operation by the Afghan army and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar Sunday, police said Monday.
Afghan troops and ISAF launched a joint operation against Taliban in Jalai district of Kandahar province four days ago, provincial police chief Sayed Aqa Saqib said.
“In the two hours of fighting Sunday night, the combined forces killed 20 Taliban insurgents, injured nine and captured four,” he said.
Saqib added the operation has been concluded and the joint forces did not suffer any casualties.
