Japan celebrates Kazakhstan’s Independence Day

Tokyo : People from Kazakhstan living in Japan have been celebrating Independence Day. Japanese politicians, journalists and diplomats had received invitations to a state reception ahead of the 16th anniversary of Kazakh Independence and outstanding figures of Tokyo and prefectures and such cities as Kyushu and Osaki were in attendance.

At the dawn of our independence only few people knew anything about Kazakhstan.

In 1996 a diplomatic mission was opened and the situation is different now. The country became very interesting to others.

Kazakh youth’s certainly in future, political stability, according to professor Tetsuji Tanaka, became the foundation for the election of Kazakhstan as the OSCE chairman.

Tetsuji Tanaka, executive director of Central Asia and Caucasus Research Institute says Japan pays great attention to what is going on in Kazakhstan and the fact that your country will be OSCE chairman in 2010 is only natural.

Kazakh presence in the OSCE will harmonize the situation in the entire Central Asian region. He congratulated Kazakhstan on the victory. Top artists of the Republic congratulated Japanese Kazakhs.
