Srinagar : Close to the heels of announcement by Hizbul Mujahideen, another hardcore militant group Lashkar-e-Toiba today claimed that it has announced blanket bane on use of hand grenades in public places.
In an interview to News Agency of Kashmir, spokesman of Lashkar-e-Toiba Dr Abdullah Gaznavi said that hand grenades would not be used by his outfit in any public place like parks, roads and markets keeping in view the safety of common people.
“However, we will continue with our attacks on the security personnel in all areas dominated by the troops”, he added.
He further claimed that the outfit has always avoided using any mode of attacks in public places but “security personnel use innocent civilians as human shields in gun battles”.
Referring to the recent fire incidents and use of `brutal force’ by Jammu and Kashmir police on innocent protesters in Magam area of Kashmir, the spokesman said that the brutality shown by the cops on innocent students and villagers is testimony of human right violations at the hands of security forces.
“LeT strongly denounces the human right violations by the security forces across Jammu and Kashmir”, the spokesman told NAK adding, “Two SOG personnel have been caught red handed for arson which exposes the claims of army and police”.
“Government of India is under tremendous pressure from the international community to settle Kashmir issue and it is now using evil means to defame Mujahideen fighting for just cause”, he adds.
