Ranchi : A man killed his wife in a Jharkhand village after she refused to pay him money to buy liquor.
Police said Amrit, a resident of Sarisakundi village in Dhanbad, around 240 km from here, killed his wife Tuesday.
Amrit, a father of six children, was the sole breadwinner of his family.
His income was not enough and the family was on the brink of a financial crisis.
On Tuesday night, Amrit came to his house in an inebriated state and demanded Rs.20 from his wife to buy liquor.
When she refused, Amrit picked up a bamboo stick and hit her on the head. She died on the spot.
Amrit was arrested after the villagers informed police.
