Dubai : The festival of Eid Al Adha was celebrated with fervour across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), WAM news agency reported Thursday.
In Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, ruler of Sharjah, offered Eid Al Adha prayers at the Eid Mussalla in Sharjah city Wednesday morning.
Other sheikhs and members of the Sharjah Executive and Consultative Councils also offered their prayers.
Al Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali said in his Eid sermon that Muslims across the world commemorate the sacrifice made by Prophet Abraham as per the order of God.
After the prayers, Sheikh Sultan exchanged greetings with senior officials, UAE nationals and expatriates.
Rulers of Fujairah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Qaiwain also offered Eid prayers in their respective Emirates along with senior officials, local dignitaries and worshippers.
