Agra : Lok Sabha MP and Bollywood actor Raj Babbar is distancing himself from former prime minister V.P. Singh and is thinking of joining the Congress party, a source close to him said.
Raj Babbar has been upset with V.P. Singh, the national convenor of Jan Morcha, over the latter’s support to Samajwadi Party candidate in the Balia by-election in Uttar Pradesh.
The actor had earlier quit the Samajwadi Party after years of association.
“He (Raj Babbar) is exploring the possibility of joining the Congress for whose candidates he canvassed in the Gujarat elections,” the source told IANS.
Raj Babbar is the MP from Agra. The Agra city seat has been now declared reserved for Scheduled Castes, which means Raj Babbar will have to shift from the Taj city.
