New Delhi : Two people were nabbed here while trying to smuggle out 3.08 kg of smack worth Rs.1.5 million in the international market, police said Thursday.
Maskar Khan, 40, and Haroon, 27, – both residents of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh – were arrested near Aali More on the Mathura road that connects the capital with Faridabad in Haryana Wednesday evening.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) Anil Shukla said a tip-off was received that the duo would be travelling in a bus to deliver the consignment in Faridabad and would pass through Mathura Road.
“The duo was arrested from a city bus, plying on Route No.460 Badarpur to Minto Road, and the contraband seized from them,” he said.
Shukla said efforts were on to arrest the supplier and the receiver of smack.
