“I want to thank the people of Gujarat first and congratulate every party worker in Gujarat,” Singh told reporters at the party headquarters here.

According to the latest trends, the BJP was slated to win around 120 seats in the 182-member assembly, leaving less than 60 to the Congress, which was hoping to oust Modi.

Singh said what won the party votes was the development plank followed in the past five years.

“The people have now realised that it is only BJP that can bring development to the country. The BJP government under the Modi’s leadership has made Gujarat a model state,” he said.

Significantly, Singh added: “Nobody is above the party, whether it is Advaniji, Atalji or anybody else.”
