Justice Bilal Nazki transferred to Bombay High Court

Justice Bilal Nazki of the Andhra Pradesh High Court has been transferred to the Bombay High Court.

A decision to this effect was taken by the President after consultation with the Chief Justice of India.

Justice Nazki, born on 18th November 1947 at Srinagar got his law degree from Aligarh Muslim University in 1973. He joined Bar at Srinagar practicing before the High Court. He also appeared before the Supreme Court.

He worked as legal advisor to various State Government undertakings. He was lecturer in the faculty of Law in Kashmir University. In 1986 he was made Advocate General of Jammu & Kashmir state, he became Advocate General again in January 1992 till his appointment as Additional Judge of the J&K High Court on 6 th January 1995. H was made permanent judge on 11th December 1995.

Justice Nazki was transferred to AP High Court on 15th October 1997. In Andhra Pradesh he served as President of AP State Judicial Academy and Chairman of AP High Court Legal Services Committee. He as Acting Chief Justice from 4 th April 2005 to 26th November 2005.

Justice Nazki is to assume charge of his office in the Bombay High Court on or before 8th January, 2008.
