Islamabad : Life threats have been addressed to President Prevez Musharraf from Al-Qaeda terror network and several loyalists and opponents from from Taliban-linked militants, an official said on Monday.
Federal caretaker Interior Minister, Hamid Nawaz, talking to media said that there were life threats to Musharraf from Al-Qaeda and security around him was beefed up.
He said there were intelligence reports of life threats to two former minister, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and Amir Muqam, as well as Chauhdary Shujjat Hussain, President of the ruling party, and Benazir Bhutto, chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
It may be mentioned here that the two pro-Musharraf former Minister Aftab Sherpao and Amir Muqam have recently narrowly escaped suicide attacks that resulted in the killing of dozens of innocent people. Musharraf has survived three attacks on his life.
