Jammu Kashmir to spend Rs 23 lakh on Republic Day celebration

Jammu : Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned about 23.75 lakh to be spent on Republic Day celebration in Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

Well informed sources in the civil secretrait told News Agency of Kashmir that the sanctioned amount has been released as advance drawal and the same has bee put at the disposal of divisional commissioner of each region for meeting expenditure in connection with Republic Day celebration, 2008.

It was reliably learnt that Government Administrative Department of the state government issued an order, last week, according sanction to the advance drawal of Rs 3.75 lacs for RD celebration in Kashmir Division.

The funds in Kashmir division has been kept at the disposal of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir for meeting expenditure in connection with Republic Day Celebrations-20O8, sources said adding the amount shall be debitable to Major Head “2070-other’ Administrative Services-800-other expenditure-OO99-Republic Day Celebrations”.

Similarly, in a separate order GAD also sanctioned an advance drawal of Rs. 20 lacs to be spent for RD celebration in Jammu division.

Sources said that Jammu gets more funds this as Darbar was in the winter capital of the state and the main government function would be held in Jammu.
