Balde made the remarks during his inspection tour of Dakar’s western corniche project, wholly-funded by Kuwait.

Kuwait is an all-weather friend of Senegal, the minister told reporters. It continues to offer assistances to the West African country in all political, economic and social areas, he pointed out.

On behalf of Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade and the Senegalese government, we express gratitude to Kuwaiti government and people as well as Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), the minister asserted.

He also thanked Kuwait’s Ambassador to Senegal Mohammad Sal Al-thwaikh for his role in strengthening bilateral ties.

The project, which entered the final stage of its construction, will constitute a unique civilized fa\ade of West Africa, the minister predicted. Its total cost amounts to USD 3 million.
