Kuwait : Kuwait on Thursday strongly condemned the “vicious terrorist” attack which claimed the life of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto.
“The State of Kuwait strongly condemns the vicious terrorist act which targetted the convoy of Mrs. Benazir Bhutto,” claiming her her life and killing many innocent others during a rally in Pakistani city of Rawalpindi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of state for Cabinet affairs Faisal Mohammad Al-Hajji said in a statement to KUNA.
He said the attack was part of a series of recent “cowardly terrorist actions” in Pakistan.
Kuwait expresses sympathies for families of Bhutto and all those who were killed, and hoped Pakistan would overcome this ordeal through unity, Al-Hajji said.
In RIYADH, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the assassination of Bhutto.
King Abdullah, in a cable to President Pervez Musharraf, described as “vicious” the killing of Bhutto and said the murderers deviated from the values and morals of Islam.
He believed the Pakistani people would be faithful and remain united, according to the state-run news agency (SPA).
King Abdullah said the killing of Bhutto would not discourage the Pakistani people from progressing towards stability and security.
TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini strongly condemned assassination of Bhutto, saying the terrorist act might have been perpetrated by any person, political parties or groups.
The terrorist and criminal act aimed to disrupt calm in the neighbouring and Muslim country, Hosseini said.
Hosseini also expressed the sympathy of the Iranian government and nation to the Pakistani government, nation and the relative of Benazir Bhutto on the tragic event.
“We hope the Pakistani government will identify and bring to justice those behind such a criminal act and restore tranquility to the country,” he said.
He expressed the hope that the Pakistani political parties and nation will help the Pakistani government to restore stability and tranquility to the country.
Continued uproars and unrest in the country is not to the benefit of the Pakistani people and would leave negative impact on stability and security of the regional countries, he said.
