New Delhi : The bus owner and the contractor of an over-speeding bus, which run over nearly 15 pedestrians in south Delhi nearly two months ago, were Thursday arrested and sent to 14 days’ judicial custody.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjay Bansal remanded bus owner Manish Kakkar and contractor Nawab Khan to judicial custody till Jan 9 for alleged complicity in the accident, which killed seven pedestrians and injured eight others.
The court after hearing the arguments on the bail plea of the two accused men deferred the hearing for Friday and asked the police to file a reply.
“I will hear the detailed arguments after the police file their complete records and the reply,” the court said in its order.
According to the police, five women, a four-year-old boy and a man were killed and eight others seriously injured Oct 7 when a bus mowed them down as they were crossing the Delhi-Agra road at Aligaon in south Delhi.
