The strategic agreement was announced by Musharraf and Karzai during a joint press conference after concluding a close door meeting at the Presidential Palace in Islamabad.

In their statements, both leaders committed to strengthen cooperation between their secret services and intensify the control in the over 1,553 miles bordering zone.

Musharraf urged Karazai on the need for cooperation, chiefly in information, to face up that threat that destroy their countries, and emphasized that people suffer for that situation.

Karzai is on a two-day visit to this Asian country and was welcomed by Pakistani Minister of Tourism Muhammad Ali Saif at an air base near Rawalpindi, about ten miles north of Islamabad.
