Shimla : The counting of votes polled in the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections began at 8 a.m. Friday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) widely tipped to unseat the ruling Congress.
The Election Commission said that thousands of officials started the mammoth exercise at 41 centres across the hill state to decide who will control the 68-member legislature.
Although both the Congress and BJP say they are confident of winning, most political analysts believe that the Congress will find it tough to retain power in the state.
