Melbourne : India lost the first Test by 337 runs after they were bundled out for 161 runs in the second innings while chasing a target of 499 runs set by Australia, on the fourth day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) here Saturday.
V.V.S. Laxman was the top scorer with 42 while Sourav Ganguly made 40 in the second innings. Mitchell Johnson picked up three for 21 while Brett Lee and Brad Hogg picked up two wickets each.
