New Delhi : State-owned natural gas marketer GAIL India Ltd and public-sector fertiliser undertaking Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd (RCF) have signed a pact to set up a coal gasification plant in Talcher in Orissa.
“GAIL and RCF signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on December 28 for setting up a coal gasification project at Talcher in Orissa,” RCF said Friday in a statement filed with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
“Synthesis gas produced in the proposed coal gasification plant will be used in production of ammonia, urea and other chemicals for use in the Talcher and Durgapur fertiliser plants,” the statement said.
