Puducherry : India will bid for the 2010 Commonwealth Basketball championships, Harish Sharma, Secretary-General of the Basketball Federation of India, announced here Thursday.
Interestingly, the Commonwealth Games will be held in India in 2010, but basketball is not among the disciplines chosen.
Sharma said, the event will be among the biggest ever held in India and will also raise the profile of the sport in the country.
Sharma also announced that the next National basketball championship will be held at Surat, Gujarat.
